School Philosophy

Zion Lutheran Preschool provides a loving, secure environment where children feel respect for themselves and others. Teachers provide opportunities for discovery, exploration and encourage children to be active learners. The goal of this curriculum is to help children become independent, self-confident enthusiastic learners. The program is designed to help children grow in all areas of development:

Emotional:
To help children experience pride and self- confidence, develop independence and self-control, develop the ability to be comfortable expressing their feelings with words, and to have a positive attitude toward life.

Social:
To help children have positive interactions with others, feel comfortable in
their environments, make friends, and feel they are an important part of
the group.

Cognitive:
To help children become confident by letting them try out their own ideas,
learn from their successes and failures, and by letting them develop learning skills such as the ability to solve problems, ask questions and use words to describe their ideas, observations and feelings.

Physical:
To help children increase their large and small muscle skills and feel
confident about what their bodies can do.
